Climate Change Action Map
I thought i`d just show all you climate change action users where the other users are from.A few interesting points:
1. There are lots of you from the USA, this is encouraging for those of us from Europe who tend to look at the USA with dispair due to the bush administrations stance.
2. Australiasia is fairly well represented but south america and africa are very poorly represented this is possibly due to language barriers but perhaps also the limited internet availability.

I hope those of you in Europe don't really believe all of us in the U.S. are on board with the current administration's stance on climate change - granted there are a few who buy the white house spin about how climate change isn't happening - but I think a lot of us don't agree with G.W. on this matter.
Ofcourse we dont believe that all of you are taken in by Bush's propaganda. I listen to ecoshock radio and ecotalk radio, both of which are from the USA and both of which are strongly focused on climate change. Actually there are more and more posotive signs comming out of the US about initatives to fight climate change, from communities to cities and even groups of states. These issues arent highlighted over here asmuch as the Bush administrations stance so newcommers to climate change might see things that way, those of us who have been following US policy at various levels and the activist movement know better! I was just trying to empahsise this point with the map.
There's a lack of interest from most developing countries on that map. Probably due to expensive/non existant internet not having enough leasure / education to read blogs. That's pretty sad because developing countries have a major role to play in reducing polutant greenhouse gasses.
I had thought of this before but if you consider it more closely...where in the world is english spoken? The USA, NZ, Auz and many people in europe speak it as a second language. I think spanish, french, portugese and native languages are more common in south america and africa. It is quite supprising there isnt more interest from some countries like india and china, with sizeable middle classes who are english speaking.
